This was first designed for an eminent professor of African Archaeology. The background pattern made up of raw silks is inspired by the fabulous patterns of basket weaving found all over Africa and particularly in Uganda where I grew up. The superimposed motifs refer to proverbs, characters from stories, music and one of them is a significant archaeological find.
