A pebbly beach in the Southern Peloponnese when the skittish wind drives the waves against the rocks and the day is bright. This is a place I keep going back to where I find peace in the movement of the sea.
On a background of rough silk, paint, freehand machine embroidery, deconstructed lace and scrunched up silk fabric, give depth and a three dimensional effect. The medium it is made from is not obvious and it has been mistaken for an oil painting but I find working with the texture and malleability of fabric unique and exciting.
